Haus of Hutch Ltd Terms & Conditions

This document forms the terms and conditions of booking of our studio by a Customer (you) at HAUS OF HUTCH LTD trading as Haus of Hutch, (we/us). The booking of spaces under these terms and conditions does not create any affiliation or partnership between you and Haus of Hutch, and we take no responsibility for and does not endorse the content of activities which you carry out in our spaces.

 

By confirming the booking request in writing you acknowledge and confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to comply with the terms and conditions contained within this document.

1. BOOKING PROCEDURE

1.1 All bookings must be made via our website booking system, or our affiliate booking platforms. Our telephone team is not equipped to take or change any bookings or payments, nor to provide detail on availability of spaces to external Customers.

1.2 Advance payment is required to secure all bookings at Haus of Hutch. Customers must be able to produce a booking confirmation on the day of the reservation; failing that, the Customer may be denied access to our spaces. Haus of Hutch reserves the right to cancel any booking where payment is not received before the booking.

1.3 The Customer will receive a booking confirmation as soon as they make and pay for the booking via our website. From this point onwards, the Customer agrees to pay a cancellation fee of £50 if the booking is cancelled less than 48 hours’ notice before the booking.

1.4 If the Customer cancels with more than 48 hours’ notice before the booking they will be refunded the rest of their booking fee within 14 working days.

1.5 Late cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice or no-shows will be charged for the full session using the payment method provided at booking. Clients arriving more than 20 minutes after their appointment start time will be considered a no-show.

1.6 We will provide a one-time cancellation fee waiver for extenuating circumstances. Alternatively, we will offer one free appointment upon rescheduling. The free session will need to be scheduled within 14 days of the cancellation.

1.7 Customer must ensure that all booking details and invoicing/personal details are correct before finalising their booking.

1.8 Once we have received payment, a confirmation email with the booking details will be sent to the Customer. It is the Customers responsibility to ensure they have received this message. If the Customer does not receive this message, please contact Haus of Hutch as soon as possible. The same rules and procedures apply for booking cancellations and booking rescheduling’s.

1.9 Bookings must be paid immediately (unless a different arrangement has been agreed in writing), or the Customer risks cancellation of future bookings.

 

2. NOISE LEVELS

2.1 Noise levels in all spaces must be kept to a reasonable level. If the Customer disturbs other users, they will be advised to reduce their noise level by Haus of Hutch.

2.2 If the Customer intends to use percussion/live music, this must be stated at the time of booking where they will be advised if this is possible. No loud live music is allowed in the studio at any time.

3. FOOTWEAR, FOOD & DRINKS 

3.1 Outdoor shoes are allowed in Haus of Hutch. Shoes with non-marking soles are permitted.

3.2 food and drinks may be taken into the studio, however it is not allowed to be consumed on or near the furniture. Please avoid bringing in food, drink or any substance that can leave permanent stains. Any packaging or rubbish must be removed by the Customer.

 

4. DAMAGE TO THE STUDIO

4.1 The Customer will be liable for any damage caused to the spaces during or as a result of their booking. This includes (without any limitation) damage to the floor, walls, equipment, furniture or audio-visual system.

4.2 The Customer is responsible for informing Haus of Hutch if they notice anything unusual in the condition of the space before commencing their booking.

4.3 After block bookings with exclusive use, and any bookings including set or props, Haus of Hutch will conduct an inventory of the space. Any damages will be charged to the Customer.

4.4 The Customer is not permitted to use glitter, any form of paints, powder cannons or any substances that will leave semi-permanent or permanent stains in the room. Use of these mentioned substances will result in immediate dismissal from the studio and the Customer will be charged for any damages.

 

5.LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

5.1  Nothing in this agreement:

(a)        shall limit or exclude Haus of Hutch liability for:

(i)          death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or the negligence of its personnel, agents or subcontractors;

(ii)         fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

(iii)         breach of the terms implied by section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (title and quiet possession) any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.

5.2 Subject to clause 5.1:

(b)        Whilst Haus of Hutch will take reasonable steps to honour any bookings, if for any reason Haus of Hutch has to cancel a booking, Haus of Hutch’s liability will be limited to returning any fee paid by the Customer; alternatively, they may move the Customers booking date to the next available time slot they have. The Customer will be given notice of changes/cancellations in writing as far in advance of the booking date as possible.

(c)         Haus of Hutch shall not have any liability to the other party, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any indirect or consequential loss arising under or in connection with this agreement;

(d)        Haus of Hutch total liability to the Customer for any liability other than that described above, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with this agreement shall be limited to the greater of £1000 (one thousand pounds).[MOU1] 

5.3 The rights of the Customer under this agreement are in addition to, and not exclusive of, any rights or remedies provided by the common law.

 

 

6. BOOKING TIMES

6.1 Haus of Hutch booking policy allows for back-to-back bookings and Haus of Hutch expects the Customer to include time for setting up and packing down in their booked timeslot. The Customer must notify Haus of Hutch admin about any delays affecting their booking as a result of the previous booking.

6.2 Haus of Hutch reserves the right to invoice for any extra time in the space according to the studio assistants report. Extra time will be invoiced at £100 per hour.

6.3 If the Customer fails to keep to their allotted time, Haus of Hutch will prompt them to vacate the space. Persistent late finishes may result in future bookings being cancelled.

6.4 Haus of Hutch can arrange for early access or late opening at an extra charge and if requested at least 2 weeks in advance (subject to staff availability). Please contact us for more information.

 

7. USE OF EQUIPMENT

 7.1 The Customer is free to move any furniture around the room (please take particular care if moving the mirror as it chips easily) however Haus of Hutch advises not to move the larger and heavy items. If any damages incur to the furniture or to the floors of the studio when moving the furniture, the Customer will be charged for the damages.

7.2 The building is equipped with Wi-Fi and this is accessible through the passkey which is located on the information poster in the studio; you can also ask for the login details via text - 07745006080. The Customer must inform Haus of Hutch at the time of booking if they plan to livestream during their booking. Haus of Hutch cannot provide the Customer with technical equipment.

7.3 Any equipment brought into the building should be compliant with current guidance and legislation. All electrical items must be PAT tested and flammable objects must be treated with fireproof spray. The Customer is required to have a list of all potentially dangerous equipment in use and relevant supporting documentation.

7.4 Any set or props brought into the studios must be specified and agreed in advance. These items must be planned and risk-assessed in consultation with our Admin team.

7.5 Any furniture, props, walls, ceiling that are damaged will be billed to the hirer accordingly. The Customer must pay the damage fee within 5 days after their booking.

7.6 It is the Customers responsibility to tidy and leave the studio as it was when they first entered. The furniture must be set back to where the Customer found it, the same applies to the props, lighting and all other equipment.

7.7 Please do not to cause obstruction to the loading area and good lift/s or the parking area in front of the loading bay.

 

8. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

8.1 Any booking involving broadcasted photography and video footage must be agreed at the time of booking as different rates apply. This will be charged according to the information the Customer provides on the Booking Request Form, please contact Haus of Hutch for more information.

8.2 Haus of Hutch charges for bookings involving photography and video footage according to the purpose and distribution of the footage. Haus of Hutch classifies hires as either commercial or concession.

8.3 Haus of Hutch prohibits filming and photography of the Avro House building (owned by Workspace Ltd). We have a safeguarding policy (available on request); if your hire involves filming/photographing children within Haus of Hutch, we ask you to be able to produce the necessary consent forms upon request.

8.4 For most shoots a credit line acknowledging Haus of Hutch as the location is sufficient, i.e.: ‘Filmed/Photographed at Haus of Hutch’. If the images will be broadcasted, we can use the images, videos, or stills from such shoots in our marketing activities.

 

9. HEALTH & SAFETY, BEST PRACTICE AND PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE

9.1 The Customer is responsible for ensuring their event/session is run in line with current health & safety legislation and best practice guidelines. Haus of Hutch takes no responsibility for the content or health & safety of events/classes run by external hirers.

9.2 A first aid kit and accident book are kept in each studio. Should a participant in your session sustain an injury, please Call the accident and emergency service first, then call Haus of Hutch helpline to inform us of the incident.

9.3 Please note, Haus of Hutch staff will not be able to accompany injured participants off-site.

9.4 Customers must tell Haus of Hutch in advance if they are expecting any wheelchair users. Haus of Hutch does not have wheelchair access.

9.5 Customers must make themselves familiar with the fire evacuation procedures and must make sure participants are briefed on course of action in case of fire.

9.6 Haus of Hutch insurance will only cover defects with the building. We are not liable for and cannot cover loss of the Customers personal property. The unit should always be locked if you leave the space during your booking. 

9.7 Customers need to have their own insurance to cover any situation involving loss or injury to a member of the public as a result of their own activities.

9.8 If a session involves participants who are under the age of 18 or considered as vulnerable adults the Customer is responsible for ensuring that the relevant DBS checks have been obtained and can be produced on request.

9.9 Customers must not exceed the recommended studio/room maximum capacity which is 15 people at a time.

 

10. LOCATION AND BUILDING FACILITIES

10.1 Haus of Hutch is located in 109 Avro House, 7 Havelock Terrace, Battersea, SW8 4AS.

10.2 Toilets are located on the floor of the studio - please keep this area clean - an extra charge of £50 will be billed if the studio requires extreme cleaning after your booking. 

10.3 The room is a 'dry hire' we do not offer further services beyond offering the room and its facilities. The hirer must arrange their own photographer, studio assistant, make-up artist or any other contractor that would be needed.  

10.4 CCTV is in operation to safeguard our property and employees from crime.

11. MARKETING AND PUBLICITY GUIDELINES

11.1 Customers are only allowed to mention Haus of Hutch in advertising as the venue where the activity is taking place and must use the words “Haus of Hutch” in the title of their event.

11.2 Haus of Hutch logo must not be used in connection with any external hires unless the performance or workshop has been directly commissioned by Haus of Hutch.

11.3 We do not allow displaying posters or flyers for external activity in our building.

12. PRICING AND SPECIFICS

12.1 Rates are calculated by the hour (one hour minimum hire)

FIRE AND EVACUATION PROCEDURE

The Customer must adopt the following evacuation procedures. It is important that the Customer keeps an updated list of participants in their group and inform them about the nearest exit and assembly point. If the Customer discovers a fire they must:

• Activate the nearest fire alarm call point and leave the building immediately

• Use the nearest escape route, marked by green emergency signage

• If possible, inform Havelock Terrace reception of the location and nature of the fire - call 07929082490.

• Proceed to the assembly point on Havelock Terrace, across the road from Hewlett House building. Place. Do not loiter outside any exit and do not stand in the road If the alarm sounds.

• Evacuate the space, closing the door behind you.

 • Use the nearest escape route, marked by green emergency signage. If you discover a suspect package.

 • Contact Haus of Hutch staff and inform them of the location of the package.

• Await further instructions
